Dearest Reader,
Is there anything more exhilarating than the news of a regal wedding? This author doesn't think so. The social season has brought numerous trends, but one, in particular, has the ton in a dizzy. So we couldn't help ourselves than to give the people what they wanted. No, what they desired. With the help of our fellow wedding vendors, Romantic Regency came to life at Dragonfly.

As every bride knows, it all begins with the dress, and this dress is no ordinary gown! Blush and Ivory Bridal Boutique provided a cloud of the most luxurious tiered tulle with hand-sewn teal, blush, navy blue, and crystal beads. The crown jewel is the CROWN! An exquisite masterpiece that ties the look together like a satin bow on top of a tiffany box. Our dashing groom could not be left behind with such an extraordinary gown! He sported a timeless look from Melise's, the tons exclusive men's formal wear boutique. Together they made quite the royal couple.

Our diamond of the first water would not have been ball ready without the talented ladies at The Avenue Barbershop + Salon. From the flawless eyeliner to the crown placement, they ensured every curl on our bride was perfect, her eye shadow sparked, and her lips were rouged.

With every pastel flower, floral plate, lilac napkin, and gold candle stick, the venue began to look like it was plucked from Victorian England. We have Susie with Park Avenue Blooms to thank for all the elegant elements. The handpainted glasses, blue hydrangeas, and individual mini wedding cakes added the final touches that would make even the most detailed duchess swoon.

No ball is complete without a decadent bite. A lady can't be caught eating a turkey leg at such an event. So, the lovely ladies at Poppy and Vine put together a royal grazing table fit for a king! A waltz of flavors danced around the table. Sweet pavlovas, berries and biskets, savory cheese and olives, spicy cured meats and dips, and salted tidbits waltzed around the room to create a delicious and harmonious spread.

Whoever said, "Let them eat cake" must have been talking about the glorious four-tier buttercream delight that Longbranch Cafe and Bakery made for this special occasion. The personal mini cakes at each table setting were an extra sweet treat for all the fair ladies and gentlemen who attended this splendors evening.

This fairytale of a day would be only but a fond memory without the gifted Alanna Milby. With her skilled eye for posing, photography, and detail, this exquisite day would not live on forever for every future Bride and Groom to relish. The way she captured the day's emotions in her photographs brings a tear to anyone's eye that enjoys beauty, and for that, dear readers, we could not be more grateful.

Gentle reader, this author bids you one question . Are you ready to be the diamond of the season and say "I Do" at Dragonfly?

Yours truly.

To celebrate hallows eve, eight Southern Illinois wedding vendors and two souls in love came together, on a bone chilling October night, to bring you a styled wedding shoot full of elegance and fright!

The vision for this session took life after Alanna from Alanna Milby Photography and Ana from Dragonfly Wedding Venue worked a wedding together. As the idea set roots in their minds, Kelsey from Katt Films, TJ from A Splendid Affair, Ally from Cakes by Ally, Dana from Blush & Ivory, Drayah from Genesis Salon and Spa, and Lindsay B. the officiant, all came together and brought out their inner spooky side!

The goal was to create a wedding theme that would speak to the souls of brides and grooms that desire the unconventional when vowing their unconditional love at Dragonfly.

Warm candlelight and a blazing fire filled the ceremony site where two would become one.
A feast was prepared that could make any dead man come to life.

With a candle that lit the way into darkness, she became his and he became hers, and they road into the night until the end of time.
